Ok I have had enough of all this "be positive" and don't give up crap.  Hard to be postive when I am positive that this season, stafff, AD are ruining this program, and it is hard to give up when obvioulsy the team has already done so.  Texas A&M is going to run the ball down our throats and there is nothing we will be able to do to stop it.  Memo to Harvey Pearlman, with all the crap the football program is going thru, and not to mention the baseball teams issues it was having as well, It is hard to see what kind a judge of talent that your AD has for coaches.  I applaud all the fans that had the brass balls to walk out of that stadium after it turned to 38-0.  I wish that we could get the whole stadium to stand up and walk out in unison during the K-State or T A&M game but I do not see that happening cuz there are too many people whom are satisified with crap.  Yeah these kids are 18-22 years old and I DO NOT BLAME THEM.  I am sure Mike Stoops will probably be fired at the end of this year from being the head coach at Arizona, seems like he would possibly be a good defensive coordinator, as for a head coach, not sure who is available and I am pretty sure that no one worth thier salt would want to come work for Stevie Boy Wonder.  Please please please Steve, you have done enough damage to our great univeristy and great state with people leaving your department for unknown reasons, the two golf tournaments should speak volumes about how people think you are running things errrrr ruining things.

CaliHusker hit it dead on.

"This team just doesn't have the leaders they once used to have. Character, to me, is a much better commodity than talent. The Nebraska teams of old thrived on taking kids with character and turning them into outstanding football players. It doesn't work the other way around."

That statement sums up the whole of Nebraska's problems since TO retired from the program. It began with Solich and increased exponentially when Callahan arrived. Those coaches have an 'NFL' mentality, where the players aren't people... they're just X's and O's. They'll take whatever high school or JUCO player the recruiting websites tell them are best. They have no regard for a young man's character. Sad... very sad.

My response to Corey is "having to PAY for school isn't fun either but the rest of the students do it. So quit your bitching and play Defense or give back your FULL RIDE scholarship money" but I might be a little biased having to pay for all of my college myself.

I couldn't agree more. These players have given up. They aren't playing hard and they are doing too much bitching about how it's not "fun" anymore. How they aren't playing for each other. Perfect example is Corey McCoen (sorry I butchered his name, but you know who-#13), I used to be a fan of his, but that guy should not have said what he said in one of the post game press conferences. Maybe it's true, its not fun. Maybe they don't play for each other. But you don't throw your team or your coaches under the bus like that. He is supposed to be a leader on that team. He needs to get those players going. Not complain about it like someone just took his dog. Again, I know he's telling the truth, it that shows on the field. You just don't do that. This team just doesn't have the leaders they once used to have. Character, to me, is a much better commodity than talent. The Nebraska teams of old thrived on taking kids with character and turning them into outstanding football players. It doesn't work the other way around.
