Omaha-based group launches Nebraska social network system
Omaha, Nebraska – HuskerFriends.com blends the popular Myspace.com and YouTube.com formats with Nebraska traditions. Owners Daniel Flanigan and Brad Nietfeldt share the goal of bringing individuals and businesses together on an advanced format to create a stronger community.
Husker Friends offers free profiles to individuals and businesses. Members can customize their profiles to reflect their unique personalities, and post images in personal galleries, comment on images and forums, and add new and old friends to their profile. Members can send emails or leave comments on friend profiles. HuskerFriends.com features event listings, special interest groups and community forums. Members and bands can post music and videos with streaming playback for others to view.
Flanigan stated, "Our goal to build an online community serving Nebraska and those who consider themselves to be Nebraskans. We do not share a direct affiliation with the University of Nebraska, though we do expect a large amount of Husker fans to be a part of this network. There isn't a better word than 'Husker' that epitomizes the state spirit and traditions which make it great. We want people to know that you don't have to be a Husker fan to be a friend on the site."
HuskerFriends.com is open to any person over the age of 18 who shares a bond as a Nebraskan either in state or out-of-state. Businesses are encouraged to post a free profile.
