Well it looks like a faceoff between Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey and MECA Board Chair David Sokal.  What are your thoughts?  Do you think there should be a new ball park for the College World Series downtown or do you think they should concentrate on renevating Rosenblatt?  How about the taxes that might be involved?

What are your thoughts and feelings toward this issue?

They should definitely renovate Rosenblatt! Where are people going to park down by the Qwest? All the way at the airport? I just don't see why they'd move it.

Looks like the major announcement will be this afternoon at 2pm. At that time the website supporting the project will go online. Check it out at http://www.omahastadium.com/ and let us know what your thoughts and feelings are about the project. Rosenblatt or NODO (North Downtown)?

I just wonder where their getting the money if they build a downtown stadium.  They're already saying that they'll raise the rental car tax another $2 because they feel that will tax travelers coming into Omaha.  In reality, over half of the rental car business in Omaha is done locally to Omaha residents.  In addition, there is a potential law in state government that will make it illegal for Omaha to have that tax.  Where would those millions of dollars come from then?  Fast food?  Hotels?  Higher sales tax?  Basically, the plan for a downtown stadium in it's current iteration serves only to make the wealthy in Omaha wealthier and tax the shit out of everyone else to accomplish their goals.  As for parking, are you saying that parking in some guys lawn 2 miles from Rosenblat is ideal?

I'm all for progression. It's the road to Omaha, not the road to Rosenblatt.
