I just received a phone call from someone close to the situation...

Bo has accepted the job in principle and will be announced very early
next week. Turner will not be coming and most likely will spend another
year at Buffalo...he's not the type that wants to bounce around looking
for a small step up.

It
is very likely that Watson will stay on but Bo wants to see more of a
spread offense especially since Ganz will probably be the man next
year. Bo will probably bring in a younger protege as the DC since he
will have a great deal of control over the defense anyway...however
don't count out Marvin Sanders.

Look for a couple of assistants
to have Husker ties. Jimmy Williams and Marvin Sanders are
possibilities...but Marvin probably would only come as as the
D-coordinator. Scott Frost is also a possibility. Tommie Frazier's name
came up but was dismissed because of his problems at Doane. Both Solich
and Gill have Huskers on their staffs but Osborne is hesitant about
raiding assistants from these guys.

The salary will be in the
1.6 million dollar range. Bo felt he had some leverage especially since
the new Baylor coach is getting 1.8 but the lack of head coaching
experience hurts. Bo can make his money up in the incentive part of his
package. TO is real big on that.

Bo has made overtures that he
really wants to kick-start the walk-on program for Nebraska kids. He
knows TO's position on this and talks as though it is something he
really wants to push. He also told TO how he has matured since the
incidents with Snyder and his run-ins with Venables. He talked at
length about these issues because he needed to convince Osborne that he
would represent the University well and not be an embarassment. All in
all Osborne seemed pleased with his replies.

If my guy gets me more info, I will let you know later.
