The funny thing about life is that it can be taking you one way...then all of the sudden turn on a dime and take you another. I started out in Computer Science. Nothing glamorous about it, but I knew there was money in it and I was good with computers/etc. The problem is that I was born with "that" gene. You know, the one where that makes you a restless soul. The one that creates that itch to do something bigger...better. And you just have to scratch it. My parents were both entertainers. They were both lead singers in their own bands. They have the gene too. My dad is an artist - an incredible drawer and painter. He has the gene. I knew that there was something more out there for me, but until I decided I was going to take the chance on that dream and drop what I knew I was supposed to do - responsibility wise...It lingered.
5 years ago I made the move. I was a Project Consultant at Mutual of Omaha for nearly 6 years. I had to scratch. I quit it all. I went to the New York Film Academy in 2002 to study Acting/Film. I loved it. I was able to do a few independent films and I was officially hooked into the entertainment industry. Like most actors though, it's hard to make a living. Especially in L.A. So, I got into the Production side of things. Did stuff for free...commercials, film...then eventually got paying jobs...then got more...Then I landed the biggest break of my life at the time and got a job at E! Entertainment Television. Not much...just a Production Assistant job. But I made the most of it. I eventually became an Associate Producer - producing shows like "101 Most..."...then I got hired on by Style where I was an Associate Producer of one of their higher end shows at the time "Style Star". Met some good people there and made the leap to Field Producing when TV Guide Channel hired in early 2005. I directed, wrote, produced, interviewed...did pretty much everything for that show. It quickly became the #1 show on the network. I couldn't have been happier. I then landed a Producer job for a show called "Close Up". An A&E meets E! True Hollywood Story type of show. It was the lowest rated show on the network at the time. Since taking it over at the beginning of 2006, the show has become the #1 rated show on the Network. It was such a shock to the exec's here that 2 people (myself and another producer) could do such a good show by themselves that they ordered twice the number of shows the following season and doubled the team's size. That's currently where I stand now. At the end of another successful season, I wait...seeing what the next move is. I was fortunate to become a full time employee which, if you know the business, is almost unheard of. It does show trust in me though and that's a big thing to me...a kid from the midwest.
I do get to do the even more fun stuff...like interviewing celebrities (my highlight would be interviewing Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle for the movie "Reign Over Me")...going to red carpet events (highlight would be Will Ferrell's Talladega Nights")...and doing field shoots on my own (grabbing the camera and going). I definitely can't complain. Especially since just over 5 years ago I was sitting in front of a computer at Mutual of Omaha doing sequel testing on a software I had to configure from scratch. Nope...no complaining here.
So what's on the horizon for me? Well, I've written a couple of scripts. I'm in the works right now to finish a scripted television show (treatment) as well as a couple of reality shows (hey, it's big right now.
I can't wait to see what happens in the NEXT 5 years. :)

Why L.A.? I love the weather here and there's so much to do and not enough time to do it. I can't imagine living anywhere else...except Omaha. Seriously. It's a great city and the people are fantastic. I was truly lucky to live there for most of my life. :)
So...all you Nebraskans in or out of the Cornhusker state, add me up. Me casa, su casa.
